Tieman Tees Off...

17 Jan 07

Scope logoTieman was proud to participate in the recent Scope Challenge golf day fund raiser at the Yarra Yarra Golf Club in East Bentleigh.

Scope is a not-for-profit organisation that provides disability services throughout Melbourne and Victoria to over 5,000 children and adults with physical and multiple disabilities.

Scope aims to overcome the personal, structural and attitudinal barriers that prevent those with disability from participating in community life and works to make our community more inclusive, more accessible and more welcoming.

Scope's aged bus fleet of 69 vehicles desparately needs replacing with 45 smaller, more flexible vehicles that offer lower operating costs.

The Scope Challenge aimed to raise funds to install wheelchair restraints, detachable chairs and other safety equipment in a new compact bus.

The event was a success with $30,000 raised on the day going towards the purchase of a new bus fitted out with quality Tieman vehicle disability access products, including Tieman a TD350HL Wheelchair Hoist, Tieman wheelchair restraints, Quick release seats, Handrails and Steps and other safety equipment.

Tieman has had a strong relationship with Scope for years and proudly supplies and installs all their disability vehicle access equipment.

Tieman would like to thank Scope for the opportunity to take part in this worthwhile event.

The Tieman team included Lew Brown – Tieman Technical Sales Executive, Michael Hourn - Group Service and Repairs Manager, Henk Blumink – Geelong Radio Cabs Chairman and Dale Tieman – Tieman Director.
